Just providing a day's training does not guarantee success. The Intensive Engagement approach, done properly, brings together training, strategic leadership seminars and direct support through the implementation phase. Working with a neighbourhood policing team throughout the whole process ensures that the correct 'dose' of intensive engagement is delivered, maximising the long-term success of the interventions.
Making sure that Intensive Engagement is done well relies on experienced and trained practitioners/
We provide you with the following means of accrediting your practice:
GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE practitioners
The Police officers and Police & Community Support officers that train with us also work on delivering an Intensive Engagement project to a prescribed standard.
BRONZE practitioners have completed the training activities, and have implemented some of the 8 steps, usually excluding the monitoring and evaluation steps. They know how LISP should be implemented. Bronze practitioners are able to assist on the delivery of new LISP projects, under the direction of Intensive Engagement.
SILVER practitioners have implemented all the 8-steps of the LISP process but have not reached the stage of developing or implementing sustainable interventions. Silver practitioners are able to assist on the delivery of new LISP projects, under the direction of a Gold practitioner.
GOLD practitioners have fully implemented LISP, gained significant buy-in from a wide range of community assets and demonstrated impact through evaluating their LISP interventions using the criteria set by the LISP stakeholders. Gold practititioners are able to lead the implementation of a full LISP project independently, and advise other LISP practitioners, subject to an annual review of experience.

Trainers
We carefully select our associates and trainers. They shadow us on training events so that they can understand the depth and breadth of the Intensive Engagement approach. Trainers are also accredited using the same evaluation rubrics
Bronze trainers have completed a number of training courses with us, observing the process of the training events and the development of the live case study location. They have demonstrated an understanding of the LISP toolkit and the screening step.
Silver trainers have shadowed a number of training events, and demonstrated competency in working with police officers and community members. They may have prior experience in community engagement and consultation events. They will have worked with at least one neighbourhood policing team to achieve a Silver level implementation.
Gold associates have completed a number of full implementations of the Intensive Engagement process, helping the Police teams to achieve Gold standard implementations. They have completed additional study on monitoring, evaluation, systems thinking and organisational change
